www.farnborough.com Farnborough International Airshow. New orders worth approximately $88.7bn (£44.35bn) for some 480 aircraft and equipment systems were announced during the 60th anniversary Farnborough Airshow 2008. This figure doubled the previous 2006 record of $42bn. The exhibition attracted some 132,636 business visitors and 153,000 public visitors on the final weekend, an increase of 23,000 compared to 2006. The world’s largest temporary exhibition sold 110,491 square metres of space – a 7% increase on 2006 - enjoyed representation from 40 countries and had 29 international and regional pavilions. The next Farnborough International Airshow will be in 2010, 19-25 July.

From the renewal of the ABC Master Line Slip with effect from 17 October 2007, the ABC wordings are available on the MWL which is an electronic library of information that serves the insurance process from cover note and policy issuance to claim handling and litigation. Lawyers, brokers, underwriters, and loss adjusters - everyone involved in the industry has a use for the service. Indeed, the MWL can boast 1400 users in 30 countries who use this dynamic, interactive service to gain access to around 14,500 wordings, whether in English or in a number of other European languages. The database additionally includes associated documents screens. Subscribers can search for a wording whilst also accessing ancillary information relating to the use and the history of that wording, as well as listings of any associated wordings and clauses. The MWL is continually expanding and developing both to reflect changes in the insurance world as well as customer demands.

www.paris-air-show.com The International Paris Air Show - Le Bourget is organized by Gifas (Groupement des Industries Françaises Aéronautiques et Spatiales) through its subsidiary PLBpe. Gifas is a trade association with more than 240 members, from major prime contractors and system suppliers to small specialist companies. They cover the full spectrum of skills from the design, development and production of civil and defence aerospace systems to marketing and maintenance. The product range encompasses aircraft, helicopters, engines, missiles and related equipment, spacecraft and launch systems, and large aerospace, defence and security electronics systems. The Show's centenary was celebrated in 2009, 15-21 June and the next will be 20-26 June 2011.
