Joe began his career in 1990 with the law firm of McNamee, Lochner, Titus & Williams, where he represented a variety of clients, including Albany International, in numerous matters as outside counsel.
In 2004, he joined Albany International Corporation as Associate General Counsel and was subsequently appointed Associate General Counsel and Assistant Secretary, a role he held from 2006 through May 2020. He currently serves as Senior Vice President, General Counsel & Secretary.
In this capacity, Joe leads the Company's global legal, compliance, sustainability, risk management, and intellectual property functions, overseeing a team of lawyers, paralegals, and other professionals.
In addition, Joe oversaw Albany’s insurance risk management program, including Aviation, a responsibility he embraced with genuine enthusiasm and commitment. He developed a deep understanding of the complexities of the aviation insurance market and consistently brought thoughtful insight, sound judgment, and valuable perspective to every discussion.
Joe joined the ABC Board of Trustees in 2013 and quickly assumed a succession of leadership roles, demonstrating exceptional dedication to the organization and its mission. He continues to serve as a Trustee and recently concluded an outstanding six-year tenure as President.
The Walter Mather Award was presented to Joe at the 2026 ABC Annual Conference in recognition of Joe's impactful contributions and years of dedicated service to ABC.
