Web addresses including background/comments from websites The Aviation Insurance Association is a not-for-profit association dedicated to expanding the knowledge of and promoting the general welfare of the aviation insurance industry through numerous educational programs and events. Aviation Week is the largest information and services provider to the global commercial, defense, maintenance/repair/overhaul (MRO), space and business aviation communities.  Established in 2002, EASA is the European Union Authority in aviation safety. The main activities of the organisation include the strategy and safety management, the certification of aviation products and the oversight of approved organisations and EU Member States., EASA enjoys technical, financial and legal autonomy to ensure the highest common level of safety protection for EU citizens within the EU and worldwide, to ensure the highest common level of environmental protection, to avoid duplication in the regulatory and certification processes among Member States and to facilitate the creation of an internal EU aviation market.
EASA plays a leading role within the EU External Aviation Policy: the Agency is a strong counterpart of other Aviation Authorities outside the EU (e.g. USA, Canada, Brazil) and a major contributor to the export of the EU aviation standards worldwide, in order to promote the movement of EU aeronautical products, professionals and services throughout the world. The Federal Aviation Administration is responsible for the safety of civil aviation. Major roles include:

  • Regulating civil aviation to promote safety
  • Encouraging and developing civil aeronautics, including new aviation technology
  • Developing and operating a system of air traffic control and navigation for both civil and military aircraft

  • Regulating U.S. commercial space transportation Farnborough International Airshow (FIA) is one of the world's most iconic global aviation events. FIA holds a prominent position within the aerospace calendar. The first five days of the exhibition are traditionally trade days only, followed by a weekend where the show is opened up to the public. The next Farnborough International Airshow will take place 18-22 July 2022. Flight International is the world's leading international aerospace news weekly magazine. It has been providing the industry with objective news and analysis for nearly 90 years and is a trusted source of knowledge in over 180 countries around the world. Flight Safety Foundation provides a forum where air carriers, manufacturers, suppliers, maintenance organizations, aviation regulatory agencies and flight crew members share information, ideas and best practices for safety. The International Air Transport Association (IATA), founded in April 1945 is the trade association for the world's airlines.  IATA represents some 250 airlines comprising 83% of scheduled international air traffic. The organization also represents, leads and serves the airline industry in general. The International Civil Aviation Organization, a UN Specialized Agency, is the global forum for civil aviation.  ICAO works to achieve its vision of safe, secure and sustainable development of civil aviation through cooperation amongst its member States. The Insurance Institute of London assists in insurance education and professional development through its lecture and visits programmes. Several aviation and aerospace lectures are included each year in the October to March programme.  Lloyd's is the world's specialist insurance and reinsurance market.  Home to more than 50 leading insurance companies, 200 registered brokers, and, with a global network of over 3,800 coverholder office locations, work together in the Lloyd’s market, covering more than 200 territories. Lloyd's is regulated by the Prudential Regulatory Authority (UK) and Financial Conduct Authority . From the renewal of the ABC Master Lineslip with effect from 17 October 2007, the ABC wordings are available on the MWL which is an electronic library of information that serves the insurance process from cover note and policy issuance to claim handling and litigation. Lawyers, brokers, underwriters, and loss adjusters - everyone involved in the industry has a use for the service. Indeed, the MWL can boast over 1,100 users in 30 countries who use this dynamic, interactive service to gain access to over 19,000 wordings, whether in English or in a number of other European languages. The database additionally includes associated documents screens. Subscribers can search for a wording whilst also accessing ancillary information relating to the use and the history of that wording, as well as listings of any associated wordings and clauses. The MWL is continually expanding and developing both to reflect changes in the insurance world as well as customer demand. Founded in 1947 and based in Washington, DC, the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) is the leading organization for companies that rely on general aviation aircraft to help make their businesses more efficient, productive and successful. The Association represents more than 10,000 companies and provides more than 100 products and services to the business aviation community, including the NBAA Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition, the world's largest civil aviation trade show. The National Transportation Safety Board is an independent Federal agency charged by Congress with investigating every civil aviation accident the United States and significant accidents in other modes of transportation “ railroad, highway, marine and pipeline. The NTSB determines the probable cause of the accidents and issues safety recommendations aimed at preventing future accidents. In addition, the NTSB carries out special studies concerning transportation safety and coordinates the resources of the Federal Government and other organizations to provide assistance to victims and their family members impacted by major transportation disasters. The International Paris Air Show - Le Bourget is organized by SIAE, a subsidiary of GIFAS, the French Aerospace Industries Association which has more than 400 members, from major prime contractors and system suppliers to small specialist companies. The next show will be held 19-25 June 2023. The Risk and Insurance Management Society, Inc. dedicated to advancing the practice of risk management, RIMS, the risk management society, is a global not-for-profit organization representing more than 3,500 industrial, service, nonprofit, charitable and government entities throughout the world. Founded in 1950, RIMS brings networking, professional development and education opportunities to its membership of approximately 10,000 risk practitioners who are located in more than 60 countries.
